Happy New Year!

It may seem odd that September marks the beginning of our FPRA year, but I’ve always thought it has a nice synergy with back-to-school. As families get back into the groove of school schedules, sports and activities, it seems appropriate that we begin a new year of professional development and education.

You can be assured that your FPRA Treasure Coast Team has been hard at work to make sure the year is off to an energetic start. Your 2018-2019 Board of Directors has planned a year chock-full of opportunities to learn and prosper through monthly meetings, networking, and professional development.

Be sure and attend our next meeting Tuesday, September 18th meeting at Keiser University. Bryan Beaty, Public Information Officer, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Department will present When Trolls Attack; Fortifying Your Social Media Against Negative Attacks.  A very timely topic as elections and social media channels heat up this season. You can register HERE.

In October we celebrate Membership Month with a Be Our Guest promotion. Members can bring a guest for FREE to the October 16th meeting when we will host guest speaker Josh Hirsch, Director of Mission and Communication at Susan G. Komen South Florida. Wear Pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month for a chance to win a prize! We hope to overflow the Keiser Auditorium with enthusiastic FPRA members and guests.

Be on the look-out for your FPRA renewal letter. Membership renewal begins now through October 31st. Be sure and follow our Facebook page for updates on the benefits of membership and PR tips.

Remember that our state FPRA website also has a wealth of resources at your disposal – for Members Only. You can watch free webinars, research Golden Image Award summaries, and access the membership directory for advice, development and networking. Check it out HERE. Good Stuff! https://www.fpra.org/

FPRA is a member driven organization. We are here to provide services, programs, and a warm welcome that benefit YOU – the member. Please reach out to your Board Members with any questions or suggestions. As a chapter, we are fully committed to embrace this year’s theme from State President Gordon Paulus, APR, CPRC, #SMART #ENGAGED #FUN

Stay tuned and see you soon!
