Leslie Swan, Indian River County Supervisor of Elections has experienced her share of infamous Florida voting turmoil with planning and aplomb. Learn how she prepares for potential mishaps and communicates with media sources in this exciting presentation.
Leslie Swan is the Supervisor of Elections in Indian River County. She is a long-time Vero Beach resident and Elections Office employee since 2004. She has extensive elections experience and has been involved with the planning and implementation of 31 elections in Indian River County. During her 15 year tenure working at the Elections Office, Leslie has served as the Voter Outreach Coordinator, the Assistant Supervisor of Elections and was appointed Supervisor of Elections in March of 2011 when Governor Rick Scott selected her from an extensive field of 13 candidates. She was elected to a 4-year term in 2012, and run unopposed in 2016.
Leslie has earned the coveted national CERA designation as a Certified Elections & Registration Administrator. Leslie has also attained the designation of Master Florida Certified Elections Professional (MRCEP) which is awarded to elections officials who complete the Florida Certified Election Professional Training Program.
Leslie is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations with a minor in Business. Additionally, she earned an AS Degree in Interior Design Technology from Indian River Community College. She has been married for 33 years to her husband, Michael Swan, a partner in the law firm of Rossway Swan and has three adult children; Trenton, Lauren and Courtney.
